"I can only recommend Shrimath Yoga to anyone looking for a genuinely inspiring yoga course off the beaten track. I came to Shrimath because I was looking for change in my life. I was specifically searching for a place where true knowledge was passed on to a small circle of people, not for the sake of profit or fame but simply for the joy of sharing…"  Farina Pakulat, Germany

What to expect in Yogasana (postures)?

Yogasana (postures) is that set of building blocks that help us to become physically and mentally fit enough to pursue the higher limbs of Yoga.

Swami Satyananda was given the mandate by His Guru Swami Sivananda Saraswati of Rishikesh, to 'share Yoga from door to door and shore to shore.' In sync with dasanami tradition, we thus follow 'Satyananda Yoga.'

Over 100+ postures are shared during the 28 day program that enables you to design and develop modules that serve the need of your students or for your personal practice. All that one requires to energize the joints, revitalize the digestive system, restore energy, arch the back, twist the spine or bends sideways, is shared systematically as per the authentic Satyananda Yoga tradition...

What to expect beyond postures?

With reasonable mastery of postures, the practice of higher limbs of Yoga becomes meaningful and interesting. During the 28 day program you would learn the right method to do pranayama (life force regulation) as well as processes from pratyahara (withdrawal). These would guide your mind to enter dharana (concentration) and make fit enough to experience dhyana (meditation). To facilitate deeper experience of the limbs of Yoga mentioned above, a couple of kriya (cleansing techniques), mantras (sound), parayana (loud chanting of sacred hymns) and a few mudras (psychic locks) would be shared with you.
