Code of Conduct

We congratulate you for choosing ‘learning’ over ‘a plain leisure holiday.’This choice also comes with responsibilities. To respect the sensibilities of people from the local village, varied cultures, languages and religious backgrounds, as well as to facilitate better learning, we have discovered that the following basic principles helped people from over 35 countries, who have studied with us. You are requested to take these as guidelines and not otherwise.

  1. You are requested to be prudent in usage of electricity and water, ALWAYS.

  2. Wear pleasant clothes. Short pants, skirts and other such holidaying dresses are not allowed. Kindly get at least 2 sets of Yoga trousers / tracks / pants and T Shirts that can be used during the sessions. At other times too, you are requested to wear non-revealing clothes.

  3. As per local law, your passport and visacopies need to be submitted at the local Police Station, Nelamangala, and at the centre. Kindly get two photo copies of these, including the address page in the passport.

  4. Be cordial with fellow students and interact on need basis. Topics of non-Yogic nature are strictly a no-no, particularly on politics, religions, cults or any sensitive debatable subjects.

  5. Do not accept any eatable or a vehicle ride from a stranger or someone not authorised by us. This will save you from digestive disorders and ensure your personal safety, accordingly.

  6. Your enrolment for the course presupposes that you understand that you are here for learning and the schedule would be rigorous.Get your own Yoga mat(s) and Yoga accessories.

  7. Kindly ensure that you come after a bath to the morning session as cleanliness is next to godliness. Also as per Yogic texts, a lukewarm water bath before a Yoga session opens out the sweat pores and enables the body to breathe.

  8. You are required to maintain celibacy throughout the course duration, in case you are attending the course with your life partner. The centre is open to legally wed or live-in partners staying in one room. Kindly inform us before hand as we need to allocate rooms accordingly.

  9. You may be asked to change rooms during the course. This would help everyone to experience the accommodation. There is a Yogic reason behind this change as well.

  10. During the course of the stay, the participants would manage the cleanliness of the building and clean their own rooms and toilets as well.

  11. Everyone will have to perform duties such as serving food, housekeeping, teaching rural kids, farming, as well as assist the fellow learners to learn better.

  12. We assume that you have taken necessary medical advice prior to the departure for this programas well as you are physical and mentally fit apart from carrying your own medicines and prescriptions. Shrimath Yoga or its personnel cannot be held for any medical emergencies that may arise out of any component of your medical history.

  13. The facility has uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system, in case power fails.

  14. Being in rural setting, waste disposal is handled organically. In toilets, you need to use health faucet and not paper napkins. The modern western closets at the facility are connected to soak pits that do not process paper. The sanitary napkins / tampons, if used, need to be burnt at a specific place. The staff will let you know on this. Carry as less plastic items as possible with you.

I agree and accept that I understand the information, code of conduct, rules and disclaimer.
