The call to start a traditional Yoga based learning school based on ancient gurukul model, overpowered all other ideas and thus 'Project Authentic Yoga' was born on April 1st 2011, which later was given the name 'Shrimath Yoga.'

Since 1997, Krishna is a student of Sri, a direct disciple of Swami Poornananda (Srisailam) & Sri 'Anna' Subramaniam (Ramakrishna Mission, Chennai).

On Sri's advice, he formalized and enhanced his understanding of the Yoga system by completing the 'Yoga Adhyapak' certification from the Bihar School of Yoga (Rikhiapeeth). He is vastly experienced in handling sessions on Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, Mudra, Trataka, Antar Mouna, Parayana, Mantra, Meditation as well as the classical Yoga philosophy.

Smrithi dons the hat of 'executive chef' as well. Along with Shoba she ensures that all of us are well fed with a balanced nutritious diet, time after time, day after day. She shares her knowledge in traditional Indian cooking with program participants, if there is a request!

During 'Shakti Yoga.' she leads sessions on cooking & preparation of seasonal herbal concoctions and shares knowledge on Tulsi Puja and other traditional aspects of the Yoga system.

Without her support and backup Shrimath would just have been another good idea. Together with Hema, she ensures that Shrimath stays true to its vision of providing 'Ashram Learning, Home Food and Retreat Living.'

Shoba B

Yes. We are in look out for a lady team member, below 25 years. She need not be an expert, could be with no introduction to Yoga but should have the passion to walk the path of Yoga. Someone who wishes to stay with us for at least 3 years. Opportunities to learn and grow are limitless. Do write to us, if you fit the bill.
